Do you love your city? Do you live for it's good?
This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel,
says to all those carried into exile from Jerusalem
to Babylon:
"Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and
eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and
daughters; find wives for your sons and give your
daughters in marriage, so that they too may have
sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not
decrease.
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the
city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to
the LORD for it,
because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
Jeremiah 29:4-7
The key to being effective in understanding the people you are trying to reach is living within the community, loving your community, and living for it's good.
Remember the question on Day 19: Do I simply live in my community, or do I live for my community?
Do you realize that your address is determined by God and is strategic in His eyes?
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. (Acts 17:26-27)God has placed you in your city at this exact time and in this specific neighborhood for His purpose! He did this so that you and your neighbors would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him! Recalibrate your appreciation for where God has placed you to live.
Start loving, respecting, and learning from those around you! Find ways to "be Jesus" to every man, woman and child.
DAY 27 ACTION STEP:

- Identify the greatest fears, problems, and needs around you.
- Consider ways to address those fears, problems and needs with the love of Christ.
