Introducing Evan Marinus James Moerman

Born July 21, 2017 (11:11 am, Calgary time) tipping the scales at 8 lbs 5 oz and 49 cm in length.

Evan has Hebrew, Welsh and Scottish origins meaning "God is gracious". It's Welsh root is also a variant of John (with the same meaning). In Celtic, the name means "young warrior". Evan is also a short form of Evangelos, "good messenger" in Greek. In Hebrew, Evan means "rock". With Marinus and James Evan is named after his paternal and maternal grandfathers. John was the name of Evan's paternal great-grandfather and can be traced to 1623; Marinus to his great-great grandfather in 1886. Evan is the 100th descendent (by birth or marriage into the family) of John and Corrie Moerman!
